What services do you offer?
I am a Board Certified Life and Personal Coach specializing in grief, bereavement and Christian life coaching.
How is coaching different from other service professions?
Professional coaching is a distinct service that focuses on an individual’s life as it relates to goal setting, outcome creation and personal change management. Coaching is not therapy, consulting, mentoring, or training; although periodically coaching sessions could incorporate some of these aspects. For more information on the differences between Counseling and Coaching please explore the International Coach Federation site at: www.coachfederation.org
Exactly how is coaching different than therapy?
Coaching can be distinguished from therapy in a number of ways, according to The International Coach Federation. First, coaching supports personal and professional growth and development based on individual-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. These outcomes are linked to personal or professional success. Coaching is forward moving and future focused.
The Life Coach and client work together as a team to bring about change and reach specific goals. Therapy, on the other hand, deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict within an individual or a relationship between two or more individuals. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past and improving overall psychological functioning.
Does coaching focus on my feelings?
Feelings and emotions may be a natural outcome of the coaching process; but the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in one’s personal or work life. The emphasis in a coaching relationship is on action, accountability, and follow-through.
Is coaching appropriate for everyone?
Deciding that you are ready for change and committing to the process is not always easy. Coaching is for you if you desire to make positive changes in your life.
Coaching is for you if you understand why change is necessary.
Coaching is for you if you are ready to move forward and take the necessary steps to improve your life.
Coaching is for you if you are willing to be held accountable for your personal growth and development.
What if I need Counseling instead of Coaching?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency/crisis, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are experiencing major depression or complicated grief, contact a Counselor specializing in grief therapy in your area.
Do you take medical insurance?
Unfortunately, insurance companies do not cover Life Coaching.
How does coaching work?
There are several ways to have a coaching session with Hope Focused Coaching. The most common is by phone, but I do have office appointments available for clients who would like to meet in our North Dallas area offices.
How long does each session last?
You can choose options that range from 30 to 90 minutes.
How many sessions do I need?
It varies with each individual.
Change takes time, and each of our options has a recommended time minimum.
Do you have a formula you use for each client?
Hope Focused Coaching includes coaching, education, trainings and support according to your specific individual needs
